"Back to Brussels once again to talk about my new film "All or nothing".
Brussels. So many colorful memories. First time, when I was 15 in 1958, coming with a wild group of young frieds to Expo '58. Our first time away by ourselves. Extraordinary, exciting. All the international pavillions, with the remarkable new Atomium towering above it all, evoking a future of exotic space travel -by 2002, we'd certainly be going on holiday to the Moon and Mars!! Meanwhile, here at the Expo, we had no money, and survived on frites and coca-cola -the first time I'd ever tasted it. Then, in the mid-sixties hitch-hiking from Amsterdam to Paris, wandering the streets of Brussels looking for that elusive Youth Hostel, tasting moules for the first time.
All my gastronomic memories of this great city are fabulous. Only last night I savoured Anguilles au vert, another new experience, and one to die for!! As ever, it's great to be here again..."
